How vibrators are powered!
Battery vibrators offer many advantages: they are inexpensive, portable and create gentle vibrations.
We do caution customers that the majority of battery vibrators are manufactured as novelties, and their lifespan can be unpredictable, ranging anywhere from a week to several years. We guarantee your vibrator from design and manufacturing faults for 30 days from purchase. Some products now offer 2 to 5 year guarantees on their product.
Here are a few hints on how to prolong your vibrator’s life:
- Do not drop the vibrator. The plastic parts crack easily.
- Store batteries outside the vibrator; both the vibrator and the batteries will last longer. Batteries left inside vibrators can leak and corrode the metal parts. By removing batteries when the vibrator is not in use, you will also avoid accidentally leaving the vibrator on low.
- Keep the working parts of the vibrator out of water to prevent corrosion of metal parts.
- Clean your vibrator by wiping with a cloth moistened with warm water and anti- bacterial soap. For optimal toy care, we recommend Eva Toy Cleaner. Eva Toy Cleaner is an anti bacterial toy cleaner and is perfect for latex, silicone and rubber. Just spray, wash, and rinse!
If there is a cord between the battery pack and the vibrator, do not tug on the cord. When inserting a toy that must be retrieved by its cord, put it into a condom first; then simply retrieve it by pulling out the condom. Do not pull it out like a tampon. Using a condom also ensures a clean surface to insert each time.
DO NOT insert this type of vibrator anally. The cord could easily become detached, leaving the vibrator lodged in the rectum. Use only toys with a flared base for anal stimulation.
Put condoms on toys used by more than one person. Use a condom on toys that go from anus to vagina, or are made of soft, permeable material such as jelly rubber or cyberskin.
Any batteries that are supplied by the manufacturer tend to be cheap and weak. Alkaline batteries are better and are worth the extra cost.
Warning: Any battery-operated device generates heat when in operation. If the vibrator does not have access to air it may become hot enough to cause injury. So do not lie on the vibrator or battery pack. Always turn the vibrator off and put it away when not in use.
Electric Powered Vibrators:
Electric powered vibrators often referred to as Massagers like the Fairy Wand, are still attached to the wall during use. The advantage of these vibes is that you will not run out of vibration during the short strokes. These vibes are often used for overall body massage because the level of vibration is very powerful.
Electric powered vibrators are large and are not used for penetration but rather for outer genital stimulation. Always thoroughly clean and dry toys after use.

Rechargeable Vibrators such as the Lelo Elize Vibrator, and the Je Joue Fifi Vibrator, don’t take batteries. They charge like your cell phone.
Most keep the charge for up to 6 hours. Rechargeable vibes are the way the industry is moving. Every year at the Adult Industry Trade shows more and more manufacturers are moving to this technology. They may be much more expensive but most carry guarantees from one to four years. And the cost saving on alkaline batteries should not be underestimated.
Rechargeable vibes come in a variety of shapes and colours. Most are manufactured from medical grade silicone or derivatives. They are easy to maintain and clean.
Rechargeable vibes depending on their design can be used for G- spot, vaginal or clit stimulation.
Whether battery operated, plug in, or rechargeable, the real power is in the choice – and Lola Montez offers fabulous choice!
