Sex is good for you

I have always said that sex is a physical act – like going to the gym! It has all the same features. For many of us it is hell to get there but once we have been we feel really good.

We all know that going to the gym is really good for you. Turns out – so is sex!

There are scientific reasons for this. While we are having sex – or exercising at the gym a plethora of hormones, neuro-chemicals and chemicals are released. The most important being immunoglobin (an antibody that helps fight disease), oxytocin and endorphin (the feel good hormones), testosterone and oestrogen. Sounds like a drug cocktail and we all know that drugs have side effects.

Sex is good exercise. Exercise helps with circulation and lowers cholesterol. Exercise boosts the heart rate which in turn halves the risk of heart attack and stroke. Exercise helps firm and tone and burns approximately 300 calories per hour. So the more vigorous the sex the more calories you burn. The more often you have sex the more firm you will be!

Women who absorb semen into their vaginas are less prone to depression. Personally I’d rather use a condom and swallow anti-depressants.

Orgasm lowers anxiety levels, reduces stress, boosts relaxation and induces sleep.

With higher levels of antibodies the immune system is boosted, so sex helps fight disease. Research shows that sex promotes healing which includes fighting off the common cold, flu and in men Prostate cancer. Increased levels of oestrogen eases migraines, headaches, PMS and chronic arthritis. So next time you have a headache don’t use it as an excuse not to have sex.

Do you want to know how to look good every day – have sex! Oestrogen is also responsible for shiny hair and skin glow. It helps improve posture and boosts self esteem. Just add shoes!

Sex bolsters bladder control, increasingly important with every year which brings me to the most interesting reason for having sex. It contributes to a healthier, happier and younger looking longevity. People who have sex approximately 4 times a week look approximately ten years younger than their less sexual counterparts. Since reading this I am planning to look 16 by the end of the year.

These are all the physical reasons why sex is good for you. There is a whole list of emotional and psychological reasons – but lets stick to science.

Still not convinced – why not try it – what have you got to loose? The more sex you have, the more sex you want and as George Michael once said ‘Sex is not bad, sex is good, not everyone does but everyone should!’
