How to use a Vibrator
If you're using a vibrator for the first time, a good way to start is to become familiar with your sex organs. Look in a mirror and explore them with your fingers. You'll want to begin by getting yourself "in the mood." Take the time to explore different kinds of touch, finding out what's pleasurable and arous-ing. Discover your clit. The only part of the human body – both male and female – that has no other purpose but pleasure. Many do not like direct contact onto the clit head. Those nerve endings run all along the vagina entrance – so find the spot that works best for you.
Only 20% of women orgasm from penetration alone and so clit stimulation is important and his pubic bone may just not be getting to that spot! You may need to use some lubricant. See our article on which lubricant to choose. I believe that one can never have too much lube and that it is the most under estimated toy!
Once you're aroused, touch yourself with your vibrator on your belly, hips, and thighs to see how it feels, trying out different speeds. Move the vibrator around different parts of your genitals. If you're a woman, press it against your clitoris, the clitoral hood, the mons, Labia, vaginal opening and anus. If you're a man, try running the vibrator along the shaft of your penis, press it against the base, the scrotum, the perineum and around your anus. Never insert a vibrator into your anus that doesn't have a flared base, to pre¬vent the vibrator from getting lost and having to have an embarrassing trip to the hospital!
Vary the pressure and speed. If the vibration is too intense, don't place the vibrator directly against your genitals, but move it slightly so that the vibra¬tion is diffused. You could place your hand, clothing or a thick towel between the vibrator and your genitals to absorb some of the vibration. If the vibrator doesn't give you an orgasm at first, don't worry! Practice makes perfect. Women who have never experienced an orgasm stand more change of doing so with the assistance of a vibrator. If you plan on using your vibrator with a partner it's a good idea to try it with yourself first, just to gain some confidence. Only by experimenting can you figure out ways of getting maximum pleasure.
Once you have finished playing with your toys – you must tidy up and pack them away. Only do this once they have been cleaned and dried. We recommend using a toy cleaner, try Eva Toy Cleaner. The cleaners are anti bacterial and will sterilize your toy for your next session. If you do not have toy cleaner available use an antibacterial soap and warm water. Read the packaging carefully – most toys are only splash proof so you cannot submerge them in water. If possible – air dry, alternatively dry with a lint free cloth. I prefer to rinse my toys before I use them again just in case something stuck to it during storage. Now hide it in the red sock, under the green jersey on the top shelf! Alternatively keep your toys safe in a toy box – next to the bed.
